Today, the first working day after the beginning of to the election campaign, I have had to synchronise Icat, a musical radio, to run away from the opining gathering members. I have thought of a text from Polybius where he speaks about the different types of government, and as a potilical system has trend to degenerate into a "perverse" version (Polybius moralizes, he does not hide his agenda). Of course that there is a great distance, in time, in the meaning of the terms, etc... but its good to think about it.

According to Polybius, when the generations have forgotten the former system of government that they changed, they tend to adapting, to consider for granted things that are not, to not look for the common good, to search the particular benefit exclusively... In this "moral and political degeneration", the moral values are inverted: the mean ones and the diligent ones are praised; the shouters and the thoughtless ones are the examples to be. When the citizens forget |their duties, the new leaders are not the wisest, cleverest or more preparations, are those who flatter the peat with beautiful words, they know, for sure, they will never be able to fulfill. Yes, today it is Monday and I have gotten up with the left foot.
